This paper introduces a coordinate calculation method for a real-time locating system. A ToA algorithm is used to obtain the target node coordinates, but a conventional DC method, which incurs heavy calculation time, is not suitable for embedded systems. This paper proposes the use of a P-control in the PID control algorithm to resolve real-time locating system issues. Performance measures of the accumulated operator number and position error are evaluated. It is shown that the PID method has less calculation and more robust performance than the DC method.

This paper deals with a new ranging algorithm in an ultra-wideband system. The conventional ToA algorithm determines the distance between devices by estimating the propagation time. However, due to different timer offsets in each device, the accuracy of this estimation can be compromised. In this paper, a double reply ToA algorithm is proposed to increase the ranging accuracy without increasing hardware complexity.

This paper proposes an optimized phase rotation sequence method for side lobe suppression by complementing and regulating the side lobe suppression sequence set. The sequence set is efficiently enhanced through the quadratically constrained least square model. The theoretical suppression performance of our method is discussed. Furthermore, our scheme is also suitable for cognitive radio, which is analyzed in the simulation part. The simulation results confirm the effectiveness of our schemes.
