Based on the number of cyclotomy of order eight, a class of balanced almost 8-QAM sequences with odd prime periods is presented. The resultant sequences have low two-level nontrivial autocorrelation values, and their distribution is determined. Furthermore, the smallest possible absolute sidelobes (SPASs) of autocorrelation functions of balanced almost 8-QAM sequences are derived. Compared with the obtained SPASs, some of the proposed sequences is optimal or suboptimal.
This letter proposes a class of polyphase zero correlation zone (ZCZ) sequence sets with low inter-set cross-correlation property. The proposed ZCZ sequence sets are constructed from DFT matrices and r-coincidence sequences. Each ZCZ sequence set is optimal, and the absolute value of the cross-correlation function of sequences from different sets is less than or equal to $rsqrt{N}$, where N denotes the length of each sequence. These ZCZ sequence sets are suitable for multiuser environments.

Left-weight sequences (LW-sequences for short) are in common currency for encoding binary trees. In [16], Wu et al. proposed an algorithm associated with tree rotations for listing all binary trees in diverse representations including LW-sequences. In particular, such a list of LW-sequences is generated in Gray-code order. In this paper, based on this ordering, we present efficient ranking and unranking algorithms. For binary trees with n internal nodes, the time complexity and the space requirement in each of our ranking and unranking algorithms are O(n2) and O(n), respectively.
A sampling frequency offset estimation scheme for MB-OFDM UWB systems is proposed based on technical specification and multi-band utilization of the MB-OFDM. An estimation scheme using simple weighting factor based on the received signal power of each sub-channel is also introduced to efficiently combine estimates obtained from all the sub-carriers and to improve the estimation performance.
