Visual criteria for diagnosing liver diseases, such as cirrhosis, from ultrasound images can be assisted by computerized texture classification. This paper proposes a system applying a PNN (Pyramid Neural Network) for classifying the hepatic parenchymal diseases in ultrasonic B-scan texture. In this study, we propose a multifractal-dimensions method to select the patterns for the training set and the validation sets. A modified box-counting algorithm is used to calculate the dimensions of the B-scan images. FDWT (Fast Discrete Wavelet Transform) is applied for feature extraction during the preprocessing. The structure of the proposed neural network is testified by training and validation sets by cross-validation method. The performance of the proposed system and a system based on the conventional multilayer network architecture is compared. The results show that, compared with the conventional 3-layer neural network, the performance of the proposed pyramid neural network is improved by efficiently utilizing the lower layer of the neural network.

The composite binary offset carrier (CBOC) modulated signal contains multi-peaks in its auto-correlation function, which brings ambiguity to the signal acquisition process of a GNSS receiver. Currently, most traditional ambiguity-removing schemes for CBOC signal acquisition approximate CBOC signal as a BOC signal, which may incur performance degradation. Based on Galileo E1 CBOC signal, this paper proposes a novel adaptive ambiguity-removing acquisition scheme which doesn't adopt the approximation used in traditional schemes. According to the energy ratio of each sub-code of CBOC signal, the proposed scheme can self-adjust its local reference code to achieve unambiguous and precise signal synchronization. Monte Carlo simulation is conducted in this paper to analyze the performance of the proposed scheme and three traditional schemes. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme has higher detection probability and less mean acquisition time than the other three schemes, which verify the superiority of the proposed scheme.

To overcome the false lock or detection missing problems caused by the multiple peaks of the auto-correlation function (ACF) of Binary Offset Carrier (BOC) modulated signal, an acquisition algorithm based on unit correlation for BOC(n,n) signal is proposed in this paper. The local BOC signal is separated into two unit signals, an odd one and an even one. Then a reconstruction of the unit correlation functions between the unit signals and the received BOC signal is performed and M sections of reconstructed correlation function are accumulated according to the non-coherent method, so that this novel acquisition algorithm can not only eliminate the multiple secondary peaks, but also retain the advantage of the narrow correlation main peak. Simulation results show that the acquisition sensitivity of the proposed algorithm is increased 3dBHz compared with the ASPeCT method, and the computation cost is only 41.46% of the ASPeCT method when M=2.

In this paper, we investigate the resource and power allocation schemes of partial block multi-carrier code division multiple access (PB/MC-CDMA) systems. In our proposed scheme, we manage transmit power depending on each user's channel state information (CSI). The objective is to maximize the average bit error ratio (BER) performance with minimal influence from the received signal-to-interference ratio (SIR), both of which are closely related to transmit power. To obtain additional performance improvement, our frequency band rearrangement scheme follows the transmit power control (TPC) process. We evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme using simulations. The results show that the proposed system provides superior performance compared to those of conventional systems.

In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm called multi-projection ensemble discriminant clustering (MPEDC) for JPEG steganalysis. The scheme makes use of the optimal projection of linear discriminant analysis (LDA) algorithm to get more projection vectors by using the micro-rotation method. These vectors are similar to the optimal vector. MPEDC combines unsupervised K-means algorithm to make a comprehensive decision classification adaptively. The power of the proposed method is demonstrated on three steganographic methods with three feature extraction methods. Experimental results show that the accuracy can be improved using iterative discriminant classification.

It is the key concern for service providers that how a web service stands out among functionally similar services. QoS is a distinct and decisive factor in service selection among functionally similar services. Therefore, how to design services to meet customers' QoS requirements is an urgent problem for service providers. This paper proposes an approach using QFD (Quality Function Deployment) which is a quality methodology to transfer services' QoS requirements into services' design attribute characteristics. Fuzzy set is utilized to deal with subjective and vague assessments such as importance of QoS properties. TCI (Technical Competitive Index) is defined to compare the technical competitive capacity of a web service with those of other functionally similar services in the aspect of QoS. Optimization solutions of target values of service design attributes is determined by GA (Genetic Algorithm) in order to make the technical performance of the improved service higher than those of any other rival service products with the lowest improvement efforts. Finally, we evaluate candidate improvement solutions on cost-effectiveness. As the output of QFD process, the optimization targets and order of priority of service design attributes can be used as an important basis for developing and improving service products.

In order to improve the frequency band utilization and avoid mutual interference between signals, the BD3 satellite signals adopt Binary Offset Carrier (BOC) modulation. On one hand, BOC modulation has a narrow main peak width and strong anti-interference ability; on the other hand, the phenomenon of false acquisition locking caused by the multi-peak characteristic of BOC modulation itself needs to be resolved. In this context, this paper proposes a new BOC(n,n) unambiguous acquisition algorithm based on segmentation reconstruction. The algorithm is based on splitting the local BOC signal into four parts in each subcarrier period. The branch signal and the received signal are correlated with the received signal to generate four branch correlation signals. After a series of combined reconstructions, the final signal detection function completely eliminates secondary peaks. A simulation shows that the algorithm can completely eliminate the sub-peak interference for the BOC signals modulated by subcarriers with different phase. The characteristics of narrow correlation peak are retained. Experiments show that the proposed algorithm has superior performance in detection probability and peak-to-average ratio.

In this paper, the spurious modes and quality-factor (Q) values of the one-port dual-mode AlN lamb-wave resonators at 500-1000 MHz were studied by theoretical analysis and experimental verification. Through finite element analysis, we found that optimizing the width of the lateral reflection boundary at both ends of the resonator to reach the quarter wavelength (λ/4), which can improve its spectral purity and shift its resonant frequency. The designed resonators were micro-fabricated by using lithography processes on a 6-inch wafer. The measured results show that the spurious mode can be converted and dissipated, splitting into several longitudinal modes by optimizing the width of the lateral reflection boundary, which are consistent well with the theoretical analysis. Similarly, optimizing the interdigital transducer (IDT) width and number of IDT fingers can also suppress the resonator's spurious modes. In addition, it is found that there is no significant difference in the Qs value for the two modes of the dual-mode resonator with the narrow anchor and full anchor. The acoustic wave leaked from the anchor into the substrate produces a small displacement, and the energy is limited in the resonator. Compared to the resonator with Au IDTs, the resonator with Al IDTs can achieve a higher Q value due to its lower thermo-elastic damping loss. The measured results show the optimized dual-mode lamb-wave resonator can obtain Qs value of 2946.3 and 2881.4 at 730.6 MHz and 859.5 MHz, Qp values of 632.5 and 1407.6, effective electromechanical coupling coefficient (k2eff) of 0.73% and 0.11% respectively, and has excellent spectral purity simultaneously.
